On Friday, June 29th, the Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs (GSE) visited for their annual field trip to Forest Giant. GSE is a 3-week summer program modeled after startup accelerators where groups of high school entrepreneurs work in teams to create a new service or product. At the end of the program, these students will pitch and showcase their startups to a live audience and panel of judges for an opportunity to win cash prizes.
The students started their day with a tour of the space before listening to a brief presentation about the unique workforce and projects created within Forest Giant. A curated panel of Forest Giant employees opened the floor for questions about ideation, collaboration, problem-solving, prototyping, and development. It was inspiring to listen to each of the student teams’ projects and their passionate founders - and very gratifying to help them with the questions they had!

To discover this summer’s GSE startups, Demo Day will be held at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky on July 14th. This event is free and open to the public - registration is available on Eventbrite.
